The guidelines below are in effect for those students who want to participate in the
“Costume Contest” as well as the kids that just want to dress up for Halloween
Day.
1. No excessive gore, blood, or other “gross” type of body or face paint is
allowed.
2. Masks/headgear can be worn, but must be removed in classrooms at a
teacher’s discretion.
3. Only for the costume contest can props such as knives, blades, guns be
brought and these must be checked in at the office when the student arrives
at SMS.
4. Costume prop weapons must be cleared by office staff before school begins.
This includes Capt. America shield, Star Wars lightsabers, full-length
swords, etc.
5. Any student dressed as any type of movie/action figure that would be seen as
“scary” cannot purposefully use any scare tactics toward any other students.
Any purposeful violations of any of the above guidelines will result in disciplinary
actions. Any actions that scare or otherwise disrupt classes or cause a disruption
will be dealt with as deemed appropriate by SMS administration.
