Physical Education Syllabus

PURPOSE

The purpose of this course is to develop competence in: physical fitness, body management skills, participation skills, health, and social skills.

RULES

  1. Respect others and equipment
  2. Follow all directions
  3. Play HARD
  4. No horseplay
  5. Dress out daily (proper clothes and tennis shoes MUST be worn)

NO CELL PHONES IN THE GYM!

YOU MUST HAVE A DOCTOR’S NOTE TO MISS P.E.

 IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A DOCTOR’S NOTE YOU MUST DRESS OUT AND PARTICIPATE.

Lock up all valuables.  Do not leave anything on the benches or on the floor. If something is stolen and it wasn’t locked up there is nothing we can do about you being irresponsible.

GRADING

Each day the student will be graded on participation, following instruction, and attitude/sportsmanship.

The student will start the semester with a 100.  The student will lose 1 point each day that they do not dress out. The student will also lose 1 point each day if they do not participate.

TAKING UP A CELL PHONE WILL RESULT AS AN AUTOMATIC 0 IN CLASS FOR THAT DAY!

 

Students are required to participate in class.  Students will not be graded on their sports abilities, but on their participation and willingness to engage in these sports.  A good attitude and respect for fellow students is always a great way to earn an “A”.
